D.A.R.E. Skate Party – Friday,October 24th

DARE4Join your Perry friends and classmates for a D.A.R.E. sponsored skate party on Friday, October 24th at the North Canton Skate Center from 10 AM – 2 PM. This is also a great opportunity to meet Perry’s new D.A.R.E. officer,  Officer Andrea Blanc.  The cost to participate  is $5.75 which includes skate/roller blade rental. Speed skates are $1.50 extra. Additional activities are laser tag, rock-wall, bumper cars, euro bungee, and 30 new video games. *Pricing for additional activities is $12 for a two hour pass, $15 for a three hour pass, or $20 for a four hour pass.

Stark County Schools Joint Statement: Ebola Health Issues

Book Fair Coming Soon to Watson Elementary

watsonbookfairThe Scholastic Book Fair is coming soon to Watson Elementary. This year’s book fair theme is Sir Readalot’s Castle: Enter the Kingdom of Reading. Watson’s book fair will run for two days, Monday, October 27th and Tuesday, October 28th. Students will be able to preview books on Monday (10/27) and will have a scheduled time to shop for 20 – 25 minutes on Tuesday (10/28). Students must have their money with them during their scheduled shopping time. Checks can be made payable to Watson Elementary.

Watson’s Family Shopping Night at the book fair will be held on Monday, October 27th in conjunction with Watson’s Title Family Literacy Night from 5:30 – 7:30 PM. Parents can also shop online beginning on October 18th through November 7th. Online orders will be shipped to Watson at no charge and distributed to the student.  A link to the online store will be posted on Watson’s website beginning Saturday, October 18th.

 

PHS Forensic Boosters Accepting Donations for Speech & Debate Tournament

speech&debateOn behalf of Perry Forensic Boosters, our PHS Speech and Debate Tournament will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Perry Local Schools.  This fundraiser assists with expenses related to judging, transportation, meals, banquet, scholarships and items related to the District, State and National Tournaments.  Please note the success of this program, as the PHS Speech and Debate Team is ranked 56th in the nation out of 7,789 member schools of the National Speech and Debate Association, has won 4 State Tournaments and has prepared numerous State and National Qualifiers for the last 20+ consecutive years.  (more…)

Elementary Wrestling Clinic Information

jojoThe Perry Elementary Wrestling Clinic for beginning wrestlers in grades 1-6 will be held November 3rd – 6th, 2014. Registration and weigh-ins will take place on Saturday, October 25th, 2014 in the Perry High School wrestling room from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Late registration will be held on Monday, November 3rd, 2014 before the first clinical practice.

 A registration fee of $20.00 will be required for all participants. This fee will cover all awards, cost of the elementary tournament to be held at the conclusion of the clinic, and a Perry Wrestling t-shirt. Instructors include the Perry wrestling staff and the nationally ranked wrestling team. Click here for the registration form.

COSI on Wheels Visits Watson Elementary

September’s Student of the Month

Congratulations to Skylar Brown for being picked as Student of the Month for September! Skylar had her named pulled after earning numerous tickets for being Ready to Learn while at school. Skylar is currently a first grader in Mrs. Forchione’s room.  In addition to being a positive role model for others at school, Skylar has many interests outside of school. Skylar collects sea shells and enjoys finding them while at Myrtle Beach when she goes there with her family on vacation. Her favorite subject at school is math and her favorite food is ice cream. Skylar has four pets, three kittens and 1 quinea pig. When Skylar grows up she wants to participate in gymnastics.
