The Perry Boys basketball program will be holding a skills camp June 13 – 15 in the main gym at Perry High School. Camp for boys entering grades 2 – 5 will be held from 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM. Latest News for Whipple Elementary
The 4th Grade Class has been working very hard these past two weeks to run a donation drive for Pitties and Kitties Rescue and The Stark County Humane Society. The drive was a huge success and many area cats, dogs, puppies, and kittens will benefit from the generosity of our amazing Whipple families! A special shout out to kindergarten for bringing in the most items and winning the grade-level cupcake party, compliments of Kerdunk Kupcakery here in Perry! Early this week, the owner of Pitties and Kitties, along with their puppy mascot Sid, visited the 4th-grade students to say “Thank You!” (more…)
Phone lines in all buildings are now working in Perry Local Schools.
The Perry boys and girls tennis teams will sponsor a junior tennis camp for students entering grades 2-8 in 2016-2017. The tennis camp will be held June 6 – 9 at the Perry High School tennis courts. Camp for grades 2-4 will be from 5:15 PM – 6:45 PM. Grades 5-8 will hold camp from 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM. The cost of the camp is $40 which includes six hours of instruction, a camp t-shirt, and a can of new tennis balls. Checks can be made payable to the Perry Adult Booster Club. The 4th-grade students are rounding out the school year with a donation drive to benefit local animals in need. We will be collecting items for the Stark County Humane Society on Monday, May 16th through Friday, May 20th. The K-3 grade level that collects the most items will be given a cupcake party compliments of Kerdunk Kupcakery. The 4th Grade Student Council officers will serve the cupcakes to the winning classes! No donation is too small as ALL donations will be greatly appreciated. (more…)
Pfeiffer Intermediate School will hold a Parent Orientation for parents/guardians of current 4th-grade students on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at 6:30 PM at Pfeiffer Intermediate School. Parents/Guardians of current 4th-grade students will receive information regarding the 2016-2017 school year. Pfeiffer’s principals and counselors will be on hand for parents/guardians to ask questions.
All of Perry’s current 4th-grade students will be touring Pfeiffer on Monday, May 16th or Tuesday, May 17th. Students will receive a black folder with valuable information for the upcoming 2016-2017 school year. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to review the information before the meeting on Thursday, May 19th.
Great things continue to happen at Whipple Heights Elementary School. The most recent being the posting of Mr. Hug’s final round Principal Showcase. The Principal Showcase is a bulletin board (located in the main hallway across from the office) where every four to five weeks teachers submit student work for recognition and display. Each time the board is changed we recognize these students on our website/social media. Additionally, when it’s time to change the board students receive a small token from Mr. Hug to reinforce his pride and excitement in their display of hard work. (more…)
In celebration of Earth Day, the 1st graders were asked to create their own “recycled craft” using materials that they may be getting rid of or throwing away. All of their projects were amazing! Stones were used to create a picture frame. An old tee-shirt was trimmed and sewn for an awesome shoulder bag. Games were concocted from used yogurt bottles and plastic eggs. The students were ingenious!
On Earth Day, the classes had lessons on saving Mother Earth. Did you know a plastic bottle takes 450 years to biodegrade? Recycling is very critical to the Earth’s survival. Click here to view a slideshow of this exciting day!
