Whipple Heights – Girls on the Run!

IMG_8338Whipple is again sponsoring a Girls on the Run team.  The twenty girl team made up of 3rd, and 4th-grade girls will work this spring to empower each other, share their unique abilities and strengths, build self-confidence, and prepare to run, walk, skip, or hop the GOTR 5k Run/Walk May 21st at Walsh University.  Good luck girls!

 

Honoring Superstar Effort!

IMG_2721Great things continue to happen at Whipple Heights Elementary School. The most recent being the posting of Mr. Hug’s 6th Round Principal Showcase. The Principal Showcase is a bulletin board (located in the main hallway across from the office) where every four to five weeks teachers submit student work for recognition and display. Each time the board is changed we recognize these students on our website/social media. Additionally, when it’s time to change the board students receive a small token from Mr. Hug to reinforce his pride and excitement in their display of hard work.

Edison Girl Scout Troop Hosting Flag Retirement Ceremony

DSCF4925Girl Scout Troop 61039 will hold a flag retirement ceremony on Friday, May 6th from 6p – 8p. The ceremony will take place at Eden Church of the Brethren located at 4437 Richville Dr, Canton. Those who wish to attend are welcome to bring lawn chairs to sit around the fire.  We have prepared over 300 flags for retirement as our Silver Award. The Silver Award is the highest honor Cadette Girl Scouts can earn.

 

Perry Schedules Hat Day for Friday, March 18th

hatdayFriday, March 18th all of Perry Local Schools will be participating in Perry’s Hat Day for just $1.00. Students and staff can wear a baseball hat, a chef hat, a cowboy hat, or any kind of crazy hat! All the money raised will be split between Perry Athletic Hall of Fame and Perry Helping Perry. The school that raises the most money will get to choose what non-profit organization the money will go to the following year, along with bragging rights!
