The Whipple Heights Hot Shots, continue to “wow” the crowds with their amazing basketball tricks of spinning, dribbling and ball handling. This year they will entertain at Lohr, Watson, Whipple, Brecksville and Sandy Valley. The Hot Shots, coached by Marla Thomas and Bob Snyder, are 3rd and 4th graders who travel to area schools for the American Heart Association and OAHPERD to perform Kick-Off Assemblies for Jump Rope For Heart and Hoops For Heart. Their goal is to teach students how to have a healthy lifestyle and fight heart disease and stroke. They also performed half-time shows for the Canton Charge and the Perry Boys Basketball team. The Perry baseball staff and players will hold a youth clinic for players, including girls, ages 8 – 14 on Sunday, March 13th at Perry High School. Session 1 will concentrate on offense and run from 9 AM – 11 AM. Session 2 will be held from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM with lunch provided for campers who sign up for both sessions. The cost to attend one session of your choice is $30 per player with no lunch provided. Two sessions, including lunch, is $50. There is an immediate family member discount. (more…)

Parent-Teacher conferences will be on Tuesday, February 9th (5p – 8p) and Thursday, February 11th (5p – 8p). Students do not have classes on Monday, February 15th.

Forms were due back on Tuesday, January 19th but because of the long weekend, we will extend the deadline to this Friday, January 22nd.
Attention families and educators! Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Strategies in Action, gives families, and service providers tools to ensure they are equipped to care adequately for, support educate, employ or work with individuals on the autism spectrum from early childhood to young adulthood. These modules are offered through the Autism Certification Center, which provides professional development hours and certificate(s). Those who work and reside in Ohio receive a free yearly subscription. This project is funded through a joint state agency collaborative.
Join your Perry friends and classmates for a D.A.R.E. sponsored skate party on Friday, January 15th at the North Canton Skate Center (map) from 10 AM – 1 PM. The cost to participate is $6 which includes skate/rollerblade rental. Speed skates are $1.50 extra. Additional activities are laser tag, rock wall, bumper cars, euro bungee, and 30 new video games. Perry High School Youth “Pink OUT” Basketball Cheer Clinic will be Saturday, January 30, 2016, from 10 am – 3 pm at Edison Middle School. Youth girls will cheer with our Perry cheerleaders, Friday, February 12, 2016, against Green. This game will be our fourth annual basketball “PINK OUT” game. Please sign up and reserve a spot quickly for your future Perry cheerleader! The cost for the clinic is $40 per child and includes a shirt to wear the night of the game. The first presentation, Parent/Professional Communication is on Tuesday, January 26th. The second opportunity, Is Your Child a Target of Bullying?, will take place on Thursday, February 25th.
