Whipple Heights 4th Behavior Reward Party of the School Year

IMG_2595As part of our positive behavior reward system, all students have the opportunity to earn admittance to our behavior reward parties. These occur every six weeks and vary in theme throughout the school year. Attendance at this fourth behavior party, which was put on by Bungles the Clown, was just over 91% with 397 of our 435 students qualifying to attend. State Support Team 9 to Host Conference for Families & Educators of Children with Diverse Needs

district9The State Support Team Region 9 is pleased to present their 8th annual Conference for Families and Educators of Children with Diverse Needs on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the R.G. Drage Career Technical Center. The conference will focus on building blocks to promote success for children, families and educators.   Registration, refreshments, and networking begin at 7:45 AM. Celebration in Art

IMG_5897Congratulations to the ten Whipple Heights students who had artwork chosen for the Massillon Museum’s exhibit, “Celebration in Art.”  There was a wonderful opening for the show this past Saturday, and the art will remain on display through February 14th during museum hours.  It is free and open to the public!  Stop in to see all the masterpieces created by our Whipple friends and other student artists from the area!

Perry Pride to be on Display at February 2nd Basketball Game

Main Logo PPerry pride will be on full display at the boys basketball game on Tuesday, February 2nd versus Coventry. Dave Riggs, a recent inductee into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, will be recognized between the first and second quarter of the varsity boys basketball game. The 2015 Division II State Runner-up Perry Panthers football team will be recognized at halftime. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM in the main gym at Perry High School, or approximately one-half hour after the conclusion of the junior-varsity game.

Anyone wearing a Perry Spirit Shirt, as pictured in the flyer, will be admitted free to this special night. Fans who wear their spirit shirt to the girls basketball game on Wednesday, February 10th will also be admitted free. Click here for more information on how to order your Perry Spirit Shirt.


Honoring Superstar Effort!

Principal Showcase #4Great things continue to happen at Whipple Heights Elementary School.  The most recent being the posting of Mr. Hug’s 4th Round Principal Showcase.  The Principal Showcase is a bulletin board (located in the main hallway across from the office) where every four to five weeks teachers submit student work for recognition and display.  Each time the board is changed we recognize these students on our website/social media.  Additionally, when it’s time to change the board students receive a small token from Mr. Hug to reinforce his pride and excitement in their display of hard work.  (more…)

WHIPPLE HEIGHTS HOT SHOTS: Hoops For Heart Demonstration Basketball Team

IMG_7800The Whipple Heights Hot Shots, continue to “wow” the crowds with their amazing basketball tricks of spinning, dribbling and ball handling. This year they will entertain at Lohr, Watson, Whipple, Brecksville and Sandy Valley.  The Hot Shots, coached by Marla Thomas and Bob Snyder, are 3rd and 4th graders who travel to area schools for the American Heart Association and OAHPERD to perform Kick-Off Assemblies for Jump Rope For Heart and Hoops For Heart.  Their goal is to teach students how to have a healthy lifestyle and fight heart disease and stroke.  They also performed half-time shows for the Canton Charge  and the Perry Boys Basketball team.
