Great things happen at Whipple Heights Elementary School. The most recent being the posting of Mr. Hug’s 2nd Round Principal Showcase. The Principal Showcase is a bulletin board (located in the main hallway across from the office) where every four to five weeks teachers submit student work for recognition and display. Each time the board is changed we recognize these students on our website/social media. Additionally, when it’s time to change the board students receive a small token from Mr. Hug to reinforce his pride and excitement in their display of hard work. (more…)

This year we eliminated the party planning for the Fall and Spring parties to help accommodate those that have to take off from work to help with the parties. In its place, we have identified a Head Grade Level Parent to assist in the organization of the process. The upcoming Fall party for all classes is scheduled for Thursday, October 27th, from 2:30pm to 3:30. We are still in need of volunteers to assist with the parties. What a MARVELOUS day for this year’s Superhero Walk-A-Thon! On Thursday, October 6th students along with teachers, parents, and even grandparents participated in our 4th annual event. The expansive track covered the majority of our back property and included stations like a fire walk balance beam, wall jump, tires, etc. The walk-a-thon is designed and put on by our PTO and Physical Education teacher Mr. Snyder. More information regarding a total of funds raised and prizes obtained will be included in our November Newsletter. A big THANK YOU to everyone who helped support our students and school!
Don’t forget tomorrow is our 4th Annual Whipple Walk-A-Thon. Students may wear their superhero costumes (provided they are simple enough that they can put them on and take them off on their own). Costumes may NOT be worn all day. Also, if you are joining your child, please see the schedule provided. You will want to come just a couple minutes early and plan to check in at the tent set up at the playground area. Please make sure you have your license with you.
Today, students in our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades will be going to Perry High School to attend this year’s theater production, The Emperor’s New Clothes. With this trip being in the middle of the school day, we have had to adjust our lunch schedule. We wanted to make sure to post this in case you were planning to have lunch with your child today.

As part of our behavior reward system, all students have the opportunity to earn admittance to each of our behavior reward parties. These occur every six weeks and vary in theme throughout the school year. Attendance at this first behavior party, which was a mini-field day we adapted indoors because of weather, was just over 92% with 395 of our 427 students qualifying to attend. Check out some of the great pictures which capture all the fun these students had.
