Weeks #5 & #6 Bus Behavior Program Recipients

Bus Tickets 5-6Our Bus Behavior Program continues to highlight students who display superstar behavior.  Each trip (morning and afternoon) our bus drivers select one student to receive a ticket based on their exceptional behavior. And, each Monday morning, names are drawn from the bus bin to showcase and receive a fun reward.  Our most recent recipients are:

Haley Burgess, Kayla Knepper, Mason Snyder, Ciara White, Dino Alessandro, Aurora Wagner, Sydney Thomas, Rhahtonio Childs, Jordan Schumacher, and Kimmy Yeager

Learning in the Age of Technology

20140317_122344Mrs. Ousley’s class loves to use technology!  Throughout the 3rd 9 weeks they (like all of our 4th grade classes) were busy integrating the new Chromebooks into Language Arts.  Students engaged in several tech projects including the creation of a biography book on Olympic Athletes and timeline slideshows based on the chapter book “Who Was Neil Armstrong?”.

Whipple Book Fair April 7th – 11th

Whipple Book FairWhipple Elementary’s book fair will be held during the week of April 7th- April 11th. Check out Whipple’s Scholastic webpage to preview books that will be available for purchase. Staring  April 3rd you can shop online!  Family Night at the book fair will be held  on Monday,  April 7th from 6 PM – 8 PM in the library.

Whipple Students Support PHP!

photo (7)It’s amazing what 400 students, their families and our staff can do when we come together to help the community.  Throughout the week our WHPTO conducted a coin drive, with 100% of the donations going to support Perry Helping Perry!  Together we collected $1,134.75!

WHPTO Sponsoring Coin Drive to Benefit Perry Helping Perry

 potofcoinsThe WHPTO will be sponsoring a coin drive for Perry Helping Perry (PHP) the week of  March 17 – 20, 2014.

PHP is a wonderful organization that has helped many of our Perry families.  From a food pantry and clothes closet to the newest program, snack sack, the volunteers for PHP have reached out and touched many lives.  The WHPTO would like your support so this organization can continue on with all the programs it sponsors. Week #4 Bus Behavior Program Recipients

Week #4 Bus BehaviorOur fourth week of Whipple Heights Bus Behavior Program continues to highlight students who display superstar behavior.  Each trip (morning and afternoon) our bus drivers select one student to receive a ticket based on their exceptional behavior. And, each Monday morning, five names are drawn from the bus bin to showcase and receive a fun reward.  Our fourth week Positive Bus Behavior Recipients are: Taven Johnson, Layla Morse, Lexy Clifton, Mya Hoskins, and Zach Best.

Grade 3 Math Achievement Quest Cancelled (3/12)

Due to the expected change in weather, Math Achievement Quest for 3rd Grade will be cancelled today 3/12/14. We are working to call all parents individually to let them know that students will be coming home (or need picked up) as they would on any other day.
