2nd Grade Students Study Landforms

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe second graders created a map using edible candy, crackers & whipping cream to explore the natural landforms of our continent.  After studying the landforms located on the map of North America, it was all hands on.  Students used graham crackers to show our deserts, shredded coconut for the plains/prairies, snowcaps and gumdrops represented the mountain ranges/hills, and blue colored whipping cream with string licorice made up oceans, lakes and rivers.  It was an enjoyable and delicious learning experience!
