The girls listed participated in the national program “Girls on the Run” this spring. The girls met twice a week for 10 weeks and learned about healthy eating and exercise, as well as standing up to bullies and character development. This Thursday, the girls will be completing their practice 5K after school. The final celebration will be a 5K race on Saturday, May 30 at Walsh University. (more…)
Latest News for Whipple Elementary
It all started back in March when each student participating in our Elementary Gifted Program chose a topic to research for something they’ve always wanted to know more about. Over the next couple of weeks, students brainstormed research questions and then researched online, read nonfiction books, took notes, and made/refined their outlines. Once they had all of their research compiled, they used that information to produce a set of projects that together would serve as their research display. (more…)
On Wednesday, May 6th, 4th Grade students participated in the Annual Whipple Track Meet. Students competed in various events including 100, 200, and 400-meter runs, long jump, and even softball pitch! Students then advanced to the Fourth Grade District Track Meet which will be next Wednesday, May 13th. Parents are more than welcome to join us next week at the Perry High School track field to cheer on Whipple!
Perry Varsity Baseball is sponsoring Perry Baseball Night Out at an Akron Rubber Ducks game on Sunday, May 31st. Tickets are $8 each, two for $15, or four for $25. Edison Middle School is sponsoring a blood drive. If you would kindly help by donating not only will you help save lives, but our school will also receive a fundraising grant. The Blood Drive will be open at Edison from 9:30am-1:30pm on May 13th. Please be sure to bring a photo ID. Thank you for your help!
Pfeiffer Intermediate School will be holding a parent/guardian orientation for current 4th grade students who will be attending Pfeiffer for the 2015-2016 school year. Orientation will take place on Wednesday, May 27th at 6:30 PM in Pfeiffer’s gymnasium. Information at this meeting is intended for parents/guardians of 2015-2016 Pfeiffer students. We respectfully request that only adults attend.
On Thursday, May 7th, Whipple Heights Elementary will be hosting our district’s 1st Annual “Expert Expo!” All 55 of our district’s students participating in the gifted program will come together in Whipple’s gym to display the research projects they have been working on for the past five weeks. The students are very eager to show their amazing work. Everyone is welcome to stop by and check out the Expert Expo on May 7th from 5:30-7:00pm!
