The Perry Players Present Monty Python’s Spamalot

montypythonThe Perry Players, celebrating their 55th anniversary season, present Monty Python’s Spamalot, the hilarious “Tony Award” winning Broadway musical. Shows will take place at 7:30 PM each evening beginning on Wednesday, March 16th through Saturday, March 19th in the Mattichione Theatre at Perry High School.  A matinee will be held on Sunday, March 20th at 2:30 PM. School Closed on Tuesday, February 16, 2016

school closedPerry Local Schools will be closed, Tuesday, February 16, 2016, due to inclement weather.  Parents/Guardians and students involved in PHS extracurricular activities should check district websites and media outlets for the status of extracurricular events on days when schools are closed.  All extracurricular activities (practices, games, and after school activities) for Perry’s elementary buildings, Pfeiffer Intermediate School, and Edison Middle School are cancelled for the day when Perry Local Schools are closed. Y­Care is closed when Perry Local Schools close for the day. Childcare through the YMCA is offered at the Massillon YMCA, Meyers Lake YMCA, and the Navarre Towpath YMCA when schools are closed.

Whipple Heights 4th Behavior Reward Party of the School Year

IMG_2595As part of our positive behavior reward system, all students have the opportunity to earn admittance to our behavior reward parties. These occur every six weeks and vary in theme throughout the school year. Attendance at this fourth behavior party, which was put on by Bungles the Clown, was just over 91% with 397 of our 435 students qualifying to attend. State Support Team 9 to Host Conference for Families & Educators of Children with Diverse Needs

district9The State Support Team Region 9 is pleased to present their 8th annual Conference for Families and Educators of Children with Diverse Needs on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the R.G. Drage Career Technical Center. The conference will focus on building blocks to promote success for children, families and educators.   Registration, refreshments, and networking begin at 7:45 AM. Celebration in Art

IMG_5897Congratulations to the ten Whipple Heights students who had artwork chosen for the Massillon Museum’s exhibit, “Celebration in Art.”  There was a wonderful opening for the show this past Saturday, and the art will remain on display through February 14th during museum hours.  It is free and open to the public!  Stop in to see all the masterpieces created by our Whipple friends and other student artists from the area!

Perry Pride to be on Display at February 2nd Basketball Game

Main Logo PPerry pride will be on full display at the boys basketball game on Tuesday, February 2nd versus Coventry. Dave Riggs, a recent inductee into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, will be recognized between the first and second quarter of the varsity boys basketball game. The 2015 Division II State Runner-up Perry Panthers football team will be recognized at halftime. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM in the main gym at Perry High School, or approximately one-half hour after the conclusion of the junior-varsity game.

Anyone wearing a Perry Spirit Shirt, as pictured in the flyer, will be admitted free to this special night. Fans who wear their spirit shirt to the girls basketball game on Wednesday, February 10th will also be admitted free. Click here for more information on how to order your Perry Spirit Shirt.

 

Honoring Superstar Effort!

Principal Showcase #4Great things continue to happen at Whipple Heights Elementary School.  The most recent being the posting of Mr. Hug’s 4th Round Principal Showcase.  The Principal Showcase is a bulletin board (located in the main hallway across from the office) where every four to five weeks teachers submit student work for recognition and display.  Each time the board is changed we recognize these students on our website/social media.  Additionally, when it’s time to change the board students receive a small token from Mr. Hug to reinforce his pride and excitement in their display of hard work.  (more…)
