What a GREAT day for this year’s Warrior Walk! On Thursday, October 2nd students along with teachers, parents and even grandparents participated in our 2nd annual walk-a-thon event. The Perry Players, celebrating their 54th season, proudly present the enchanting children’s theatre production of Cinderella on Saturday, October 4th at noon in the PHS Mattachione Theatre. Tickets will be sold at the door 45 minutes before curtain. The Perry Theatre Clown Troupe will be around to greet the young guests. Tickets are $3 each.
The Edison Middle School staff will hold a benefit dinner and silent auction on Saturday, December 6th at the McKinley Eagles for Sharon Budd and her family. Doors will open at 6 PM with dinner being served at 7 PM. Individual tickets (open seating) are $30 each, or you can reserve a table of ten. Join us on Thursday, October 16th from 6p – 8p at RG Drage Career Technical Center for an evening full of great tips on how to enhance literacy skills in your home and beyond. Perry Cafeterias celebrate Healthy School Lunches and Breakfasts! Do you know what is being served in Perry Local School’s Cafeteria? The answer may surprise you. Today’s School Lunches are healthier than ever. We offer students fruits and vegetables every day including the introduction of more fresh, locally grown produce, an increase in offerings of whole grains, and the limit of calories, fat, and sodium to age-appropriate levels. Perry High School’s girls volleyball team will be hosting Volley for the Cure on Tuesday, September 30th as part of the Perry versus Lake volleyball game. Great things continue to happen at Whipple Heights Elementary School. The most recent being the posting of Mr. Hug’s 1st Round Principal Showcase. The Principal Showcase is a bulletin board (located in the main hallway across from the office) where every three to four weeks teachers submit student work for recognition and display. Whipple Heights Elementary is gearing up for its 2nd annual “Warrior Walk.” On Friday September 19th, staff held an assembly for students to kick off the fundraising effort. Teachers sported this year’s official walk-a-thon t-shirts (with some added touches) and modeled for students a mini walk-a-thon. They even showed students samples of the activity stations that they will experience at the actual event like hula hooping, jump rope, and a fake fire jump.
