HATS! Seasonal Music Program Information

2nd Grade Performance - Pic #1Whipple Heights is so excited to share the news of their upcoming Seasonal Music Program put on by our fabulous second grade students! HATS! is a musical that celebrates each individual under the hat!  Throughout the show, we talk about how we all wear different types of hats and are all unique in our own way!  We also showcase the importance of being kind to everyone even if their hat is different from ours and what really matters is what is in our head and our heart!  Throughout the course of our rehearsals, the students learn about proper concert etiquette as well as how to be a good performer, and how to work hard to achieve a goal.  We talk about singing techniques and how to work together as a team to produce an entertaining show for our audience.  Students will perform twice during the school day for their grandparents and then once again in the evening!  The students have been working hard and are so excited to perform!  HATS! Whipple Heights Kindness Day #2

Kindness Day PicThis school year, Whipple Heights Elementary has made a commitment to focus on teaching our students about the importance of demonstrating kindness both inside and outside of the classroom. Today, all students took part in “Whipple’s Day of Kindness #2 – Kindness in our Community.” We kicked the day off with Officer Lamar Sharpe, a Canton Police Officer and Founder of the Be a Better Me Foundation , speaking to the students at a school-wide assembly. He talked to them about being their best self, how they can make a difference in their community, and that spreading kindness is one of the most important things we can do!  Attached is a copy of the Parent Letter that will go home today as well as an order form for Kindness shirts we have created to connect with our focus.

Honoring Superstar Effort!

Showcase Pic 10-24Great things continue to happen at Whipple Heights Elementary School. The most recent being the posting of Mr. Hug’s 2nd Round Principal Showcase for the 2018-2019 school year. The Principal Showcase is a bulletin board (located in the main hallway across from the office) where every four to five weeks teachers submit student work for recognition and display based on student effort. Each time the board is changed we recognize these students on our website/social media. Additionally, when it’s time to change the board students receive a small token from Mr. Hug to reinforce his pride and excitement in their display of hard work. (more…)
